Flourishing Florence

Today is our 6th day in Italy, and our second day in Florence! Nothing was scheduled for us to do, so we had free time to explore the city. With this opportunity, we had more freedom to go SHOPPING! But first, we needed food. We decided to walk from our hotel all the way to the downtown area which was about a 20 minute walk. We stopped at a restaurant that had an open patio in the central area of Piazza de Repubblica called Paskowski. I ordered a spaghetti dish with a cold cappuccino. Great place, great food, and great employees! Overall I was satisfied with my experience there, plus the view was so amazing! It was such an open space with a lot of brightness and lots of people.

After eating, it was time to end it with dessert. You already know what it is... GELATO!! I haven’t tried gelato yet this whole entire trip, so it was #1 on my list to go try before I leave. We decided to talk a short walk and try gelato at Gelateria dei Neri. It was rated one of the best gelato places in Florence on Yelp, so how could I not go? It was 4€ for 3 flavors/scoops, awesome deal. I didn’t realize gelato could be so filling but it’s so thick and creamy that I honestly could just eat it for lunch next time.

We also did some shopping around the area and later ate dinner at Grillo. Of course, I got another plate of pasta but this time with clams to change up the taste a little bit, and it was so simple yet so delicious.

Later on during the night time around 10:30pm, me and Cristina decided to walk to the Mercato Centrale to take a look at the underground market and the restaurants above the market. However, the market was closed for the day, so we ended up just getting gelato since Cristina hadn’t tried gelato yet.

Today was a day well spent. I will miss you Florence!!
